Anomalies are historical or contemporary manifestations where the social system enters into severe deterioration, loss of complexity or institutional breakdown. Not all collapses follow the same path: some are rapid and violent, others slow and cumulative. From physics, they represent different trajectories towards states of less organization, fragmentation or forced reorganization.
