Evaluation and Use of the Model
Description
Model D08 - Dark Matter: Weak Lensing and X-rays in Galaxy Clusters
The model is evaluated both formally and empirically. The formal evaluation determines to what extent the logical network is grounded in physical principles versus mathematical relationships fitted to reality without causal support, and to what extent each variable stems from a general principle or from a fit specific to the observed operation. The empirical evaluation, in parallel, runs experiments or compares against measured data to validate that the model correctly predicts what will occur.
After these validations —and with the uncertainties and safeguards that should be maintained— the model can be used in simulators that forecast the system's behavior for the situation being studied.
